Justice Department Refuses To Prosecute Lois Lerner For Contempt

Outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder holds the distinction of being the Obama administration official who has done the most to protect Obama, albeit by violating more laws than Hillary Clinton at a Benghazi document shredding party.

Although he is the nation’s chief law enforcement officer, Holder has led a six-year continuing assault on the Constitution. In fact, since taking office in 2009, Holder has failed to enforce more laws than any Attorney General in history. Because his allegiance has always been to Barack Obama and not the United States, it comes as no real surprise that the Justice Department is refusing to prosecute former IRS official Lois Lerner for contempt of Congress.

“I have not done anything wrong. I have not broken any laws, I have not violated any IRS rules or regulations and I have not provided false information to this or any other congressional committee.”

Lois Lerner

Lerner refused to testify during a congressional hearing in May of 2013 about her role in the IRS targeting conservative groups. Lerner chose to invoke her 5th Amendment right against self incrimination and refused to testify before Congress. However, in her opening statement, Lerner professed her innocence 17 times before invoking the Fifth. Because her opening statement constituted testimony, Lerner effectively waived her Fifth Amendment rights and Congress found her to be in Contempt of Congress.

Upon finding Lerner to be in Contempt, Congress referred the matter to the Justice Department for prosecution. Holder has refused to prosecute Lerner despite the Congressional Order. The refusal to prosecute Lerner isn’t surprising because the Justice Department and several senior administration officials are complicit with Lerner and the IRS in targeting Conservative groups.

When the Attorney General of the United States refuses to enforce the law, except of course for racial discrimination cases, we face a lawlessness that amounts to nothing less than a Constitutional crisis. Our Founding Fathers, it seems, never contemplated the possibility of two such fundamentally dishonest men as Obama and Holder in positions of power.
