Media Declares Trump Supporters Morally Tainted
ABC News reporter Cokie Roberts says Americans who support Donald Trump are “morally tainted.” The attack by Roberts on millions of good, honest, hard-working Americans exposes the media bias that is providing the impetus to support Trump in the first place.
Cokie Roberts Claims Moral Superiority Over Trump Supporters
Roberts has been attacking Trump since he declared his candidacy in June 2015. This morning, appearing on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Roberts conjured up moral superiority which she does not possess, claiming that her Southern upbringing gives her the insight and authority to know Trump’s candidacy was a “stain,” taking the country back in that direction.
“Nobody’s ever seen anything like this,” the 72-year-old Roberts continued. “Not only did I grow up in politics, I grew up in the Jim Crow South. And we spent the last 50 years trying to bring people together instead of push people apart. And so that becomes a terrible stain on the country.”
The terrible stain on the country is the shameful abdication of the responsibility to report the truth by the liberal, mainstream media. The Fourth Estate has devolved into a gaggle of political activists who no longer even attempt to report the truth, because they have forfeited what little journalistic integrity they may have once had. We are watching the complete abandonment of ethical journalism as essentially all of the mainstream media has signed on to be the public relations arm and protectors of Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Cokie Roberts has abandoned what little journalistic integrity she may have once had.
ABC News Media Declares Trump Supporters Morally Tainted
Despite her self declared moral superiority, Roberts has made no mention of the 16-month espionage investigation of Hillary Clinton that resulted in the FBI calling her handling of classified national security information “extremely careless” and “reckless” along with providing proof that Hillary Clinton lied to the American people about her actions.
Her moral superiority was again absent in not addressing the federal perjury charges that Hillary Clinton now faces because she lied to Congress while giving disingenuous testimony to the House Select Committee on Benghazi in October 2015.
Her moral superiority apparently did not empower Roberts to tell the American people that Hillary has repeatedly lied about her email scandal. Despite her moral superiority, Roberts was unable to address the multiple public corruption charges she s that Hillary faces of the Clinton Foundation and allegations of pay-for-play stemming from Clinton’s ties between her work as Secretary of State and her family’s foundation.
Cokie also ignored the collaboration which took place between the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee for the sole purpose of preventing Bernie Sanders from getting the Democratic nomination for president, along with a laundry list of additional Hillary Clinton legal, ethical and moral violations. She reserves her indignation exclusively for Trump and his supporters.
Progressive Dogma Prevents Legitimate Journalism
Roberts, whose parents were Democratic members of Congress, has made her feelings about Trump clear before. In February, the syndicated newspaper column she writes with her husband, Steve Roberts, called for “the rational wing” of the Republican Party to stop Trump.
“Trump is one of the least qualified candidates ever to make a serious run for the presidency,” Roberts wrote. “If he is nominated by a major party – let alone elected – the reputation of the United States would suffer a devastating blow around the world.”
Attacking Trump Not Enough As Roberts Protects Clinton
Attacking Trump isn’t enough for Roberts. She regularly provides cover for Hillary Clinton. She recently told former Clinton staffer turned ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos, that anti-Hillary sentiment was due to sexism. Roberts cited non-existent research as evidence of her claim.
Trump Supporters Are Morally Strong, Morally Certain, Hard Working Americans
As for myself, like most Trump supporters, I am a morally strong, morally certain, hard-working and honest. I am not morally tainted, and I demand an apology. Roberts statements are a slanderous and dishonest characterization of my moral standards.
Media elites, like Cokie Roberts, can’t even recognize that their disconnect from the voice of the people helps give rise to the Trump movement. Trump supporters, who are fighting to save their country, do recognize it.
