Obama Admin Recruiting Illegal Immigrants
It’s no secret that the US immigration system is a train wreck. By all accounts there are 11 or 12 million illegal immigrants living in the US. Criminal illegal aliens seemingly commit crimes with impunity. A beautiful young woman was shot dead on a San Francisco pier by an illegal immigrant who had been deported 5 times. Our southern border is so porous that thousands of illegal immigrant children stroll into America at will.
If you’re anything like me, you wonder how the country that won World War Two and the Cold War, and made the world safe for democracy, can’t defend its own border. We might as well be France, for God’s sake. So why can’t we stop little kids from walking across the border.
The answer lies not in understanding our inability to secure the border but in your mistaken belief that the Obama Administration wants to secure the border. Barack Obama has chosen not to enforce our immigration laws and has chosen not to stop the flow of illegal immigrants into America. On the contrary, Barack Obama wants very much to increase the flow of illegal immigrants into the country.
To go a step further, tragic incidents like Kate Steinle’s murder in San Francisco by an illegal immigrant or the arrival of hundreds of thousands of unaccompanied minors are precisely the kind of leverage Obama needs to advance comprehensive immigration reform.
I recently wrote an article about how Obama is shielding illegal immigrants from deportation based on their accrual of unlawful presence in the country. Now Obama has a program that takes this to a whole new level.
State And Homeland Security Are Recruiting Illegal Immigrants
Illegal immigration has not yet gotten to be a serious enough problem to serve Obama’s needs. To increase the flow of illegal immigrants into the US, the State Department is administering a new federal program that recruits illegal immigrants and brings them to the US. The program, which is being jointly operated by Homeland Security, is paying to fly Central American children into US
An undetermined number of current and former illegal immigrants now have the opportunity to fly their children to the US with taxpayer dollars. But it gets worse. Once here, they will be eligible for federal and state benefits including a free education, healthcare and food stamps.
The joint State Department and Department of Homeland Security controlled program is a response to the flood of Central American children making dangerous journeys to illegally cross the US southern border. So you can stop worrying about the long, dangerous journey to the United States. From now on, the Obama Administration is going to fly them in.
Any permanent resident, parolee or illegal immigrant granted or in the process of being granted a work permit under Obama’s recent executive order or his deferred action policy, who has children who are under 21 living in Honduras, Guatemala or El Salvador can apply for the program.
If their application is approved, the child will be granted a special refugee status and flown into the US where they will receive resettlement assistance and be eligible for taxpayer benefits. If the child has children under 21 they can come too, as well as any parent of the child who is married to the applicant. Some of the benefits they will receive are a free education, medical care, living expenses and food stamps.
Immigration and State Department officials held an invitation only teleconference call on Tuesday that explained how the program will work. The conference call was not open to the press and was mostly attended by illegal immigrant advocacy groups, according to Judicial Watch.
A State Department official said this family reunification program is being entirely funded by taxpayers, but also claimed that the total cost of the program is unknown.
There is no cost to the applicants except for a DNA test to prove the child is actually the applicants along with a promissory note promising to repay the cost of travel, but they will be reimbursed for the DNA test if it validates their claims. A US medical official will interview the child or spouse, who will then undergo medical examination and cultural orientation before entering the US.
Central American Minors (CAM) Refugee/Parole Program
“The Central American Minors (CAM) Refugee/Parole Program provides certain qualified minors in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras a safe, legal, and orderly alternative to the dangerous journey that some children are currently undertaking to the United States,” a government page explaining the program states.
The Obama Administration has already sent personnel to the region and began accepting applications as early as last December. On the off chance that applicants don’t qualify for refugee status, they can be considered for parole status, in which case they would have to pay for medical clearance and the flight into the US.
Don’t be too concerned, applicants won’t need to document a credible fear to qualify for the program. The reason, according to a State Department official, is because “we want to make sure this program is open to as many people as possible.”
It’s not that we can’t secure the border, it’s that Obama doesn’t want to.
