Obama Will Not Enforce Immigration Laws

We all remember that historic day in January 2009 when Barack Obama was sworn in on the steps of the US Capitol. With his hand on the bible, Obama swore to faithfully execute the laws of the United States of America. Few besides Obama knew, at the time, that he was lying, but he was lying. I can hear the left going crazy right now and they’ll undoubtedly threaten bodily harm within the week. Embrace the truth, lefties, your messiah is the biggest liar who has ever stepped foot in the Oval Office.

There are plentiful examples of Obama’s dishonesty and his flagrant disregard for the law. But today we’re only addressing Obama’s dishonesty on the subject of illegal immigration and border security.

With that focus in mind, we have to ask one simple question. Obama swore to faithfully execute the laws of the United States, so is his refusal to enforce immigration laws a violation of his oath of office? The only possible answer is yes. Obama has violated and continues to violate his oath of office by ignoring immigration laws. You have to think a Harvard educated lawyer is smart enough to know he is violating the law, so he is willfully and intentionally violating the law and his oath of office.

Before those of you on the left, who drank Obama’s Kool-Aid claim that the end justifies the means, or some other progressive dribble, and that Obama is somehow justified in ignoring immigration laws, remember that we are a nation of laws. No President, including Obama, gets to pick and choose the laws they will faithfully execute. They have to execute all of them.

Ask yourself why Obama will not enforce immigration laws. Make no mistake about it, it is deliberate refusal. He doesn’t enforce and won’t in the future enforce immigration laws because his liberal political agenda is more important to Obama than is defending the country. To liberals like Obama, the end justifies the means. The occasional murder of innocent Americans like Kate Steinle is a small price to pay to achieve his political goals.

But he is not above the law, and he is in violation of his oath of office and his failure to secure our border is but another Obama scandal.

Obama will not enforce immigration laws and has even arrogantly declared his refusal to comply with existing immigration laws. Obama is holding all of us hostage to his political agenda by refusing to secure the border unless he can grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.

Every time you hear him say we need comprehensive immigration reform in order to secure the border, remember he is lying. He won’t comply because immigration laws do not comport to his political agenda. He needs to be able to grant amnesty to illegal aliens so he can convert them into good little democrat party voters. He will leave our border open and continue to ignore the law no matter how many Americans are gunned down by illegal immigrants.

After hearing emotional testimony from many of the families who have been devastated by illegal immigrant murderers, Republican members of Congress grilled two Obama administration witnesses: Leon Rodriquez, Director of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and Sarah Saldaña, Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).  Rodriquez and Saldaña are tasked with carrying out Obama’s illegal executive orders granting amnesty to illegal aliens.

During the hearings, Louisiana Republican Senator David Vitter repeatedly pressed Saldaña on why the Obama Administration was taking no action against sanctuary cities that refuse to turn over illegal aliens from their jails to federal law officers. Ms. Saldaña’s reply speaks volumes. She said that Congress would first have to pass comprehensive immigration reform.

“This has been going on for years and you still are not prepared to say that there is ever going to be any negative consequence to those sanctuary jurisdictions. When is that going to change?” asked Senator Vitter. Ms. Saldaña replied “I presume when you all address comprehensive immigration reform; perhaps it can be addressed there.”

Vitter described Saldaña’s answer as “ridiculous” and kept pressing: “And absent Congress passing that [Senate immigration] bill, that you and the Obama Administration prefer, you don’t think right now we can stop sanctuary cities from flaunting federal law? You don’t think right now there can be any negative consequences when they do not properly cooperate under existing federal law with immigration enforcement?”

Saldaña gave a muddled reply: “That’s what I understand that all of you are working on.” The Senate immigration bill which is so highly touted by Obama would have given amnesty to many of the criminal illegal aliens the families who testified wish to see deported.

The Senate immigration bill was written before the new Republican majority came to power in the Senate by special interests that put their political agenda ahead of the welfare and safety of the American people. The Senate immigration bill that Obama wants the House to pass would provide immediate legalization and a path to citizenship for gang members and dangerous criminal aliens. The bill also serves to handcuff ICE officers from being able to enforce immigration laws in the future and provides no means of effectively enforcing visa overstays which account for almost half of the illegal immigrants.

Senator Chuck Grassley, Republican from Iowa, offered an amendment to the Senate immigration bill that would have barred gang members, such as the notorious MS-13 gang members who have wreaked havoc across the country, from being granted amnesty. The amendment was defeated by democrats in the Judiciary Committee. The final bill, which was supported by all democrats in the Senate expressly made amnesty available to gang members an amnesty that included access to green cards, welfare benefits and the gold medal prize of US citizenship.

Illegal immigration, border security and the rule of law are shaping up to be some of the most passionate and visible issue of the 2016 presidential race, so choose your candidates carefully.

In the meantime, we have to reject Obama’s lawlessness and tell our Congressional Representatives to do what it takes to secure the border. We must also do what it takes to prevent them from passing comprehensive immigration reform without first securing our southern border. Contact your elected representatives today. [CongressLookup]
